Our fossilized dinosaur bones are around 180 million years old, coming from the Sauropod species. The Sauropods were large four legged herbivorous dinosaurs. The had long necks and would have eaten mainly conifers and ferns which were plentiful in their habitat. When this dinosaur died, it would have been covered in silt and sand, creating the right conditions for fossilization to occur.
